Term Review 2

Mid Term Review

1.  What are the the musical goals you want to achieve this year?
I want to become a better lead guitarist.
I want to increase my repertoire of songs

2. Are these musical goals new/have they changed from when you first wrote your goals on your blog?
Yes because I want to focus on learning a different technique on guitar, which will allow me to improve my solos. I also want to focus on increasing the amount of songs I know on guitar instead of learning to play a new instrument.

3. Do you think you are achieving these goals? How do you know?
I will achieve these goals by practising scales in lesson and at home. By playing scales through repetition playing lead guitar will become more natural, and I will being able to improvise solos.

4. Is there anything stopping you from achieving these goals?
No, as I have guitars at home which I can use for practise and I have backing tracks which I can play along to. I also have access to guitar tabs on the internet to improve my scales.

5. What do you need to focus on each lesson to achieve these goals?

I need to focus on practising scales and playing songs to backing tracks. Therefore by playing along to the song I will be familiar with the changes in the song.
6. Write in detail what you would like to achieve this year in music.

1.I would like to become a better lead guitarist and improve my technical ability to play lead solos and improvise.
2.I would like to improve my repertoire of songs, so that I am to use my guitar ability to play gigs.

7. Write five things you need to learn/be taught for you to become the musician you want to become.

1. Guitar scales
2. New songs including Sweet Child O Mine, Stairway To Heaven and Crazy Train.
3. Guitar solo tabs for the songs above.
4. How to change the guitar sound for each song using a pedal.
5. How to transition from each part of the song smoothly.

8. Progress in last two weeks.
In the past two weeks I have been practising my guitar scales in and out of lessons. I have also been applying the scales to songs and practising the solos. I have also been repeatedly practising the songs so that I know when the transitions occur.
