Charity Concert Prep
I think that the average age range of people attending the charity concert would be from 15 to 60, because there will be students from my year and parents watching. The most suitable style of music to perform is rock because I can play guitar, it's a style I like and it keeps the audience entertained. Five suitable songs to play are: Oasis-Wonderwall, Stevie Wonder-Superstition, Boston-More Than A Feeling, Guns and Roses- Sweet child of Mine, Eric Clapton-Layla. I feel quite confident for completing this brief because I have performed live lots of times before and know some of these songs very well. This year I need to focus on learning all of these songs so that i can play a full 15 minute live performance. I will practice at school and at home so that I have a good understanding of the song.

Term 1 Review
Mid Term Review
1. What are the the musical goals you want to achieve this year?
- I want to become a more advanced guitarist
- I want to learn the drums
2. Are these musical goals new/have they changed from when you first wrote your goals on your blog?
When i first wrote my goals I wanted to become a more advanced guitar player, but now I also want to learn drums.
3. Do you think you are achieving these goals? How do you know?
I do think that I am achieving these goals because I am practising guitar much more than i used to and I am having drumming lessons in school.
4. Is there anything stopping you from achieving these goals?
I can play my guitar at home so i can improve and learn my new songs, however I do not have a drum kit so i can't practice drumming at home. This means that I won't make as much progress.
5. What do you need to focus on each lesson to achieve these goals?
I need to focus on my guitar riffs and drumming patterns in order to improve.
6. Write in detail what you would like to achieve this year in music.
This year, I want to be able to play advanced riffs on guitar, and learn the songs: Sweet Child O Mine, Back In Black and Superstition. I would also like to improve my drumming beats, by having drumming lessons in school and practicing at lunchtime.
7. Write five things you need to learn/be taught for you to become the musician you want to become.
1. Guitar
2. Drums
3. Sweet Child O mine - Guns and Roses
4. Back in Black - AC/DC
5. Superstition - Stevie Wonder
8. Progress in last two weeks.
In the past two weeks, I have been practicing the whole song of 'Sweet Child Of Mine' by Guns and Roses. In the first week, I practiced the lead riff and main guitar chords. The week after I learned the chorus and part of the solo. At first, I found the lead riff very hard, but now I find it easy because I have practiced at home. I now need to learn the rest of the solo, so that I can play the whole song off by heart. For my next lesson, I'll need to watch some tutorials on how to play the solo.

Health and Safety
Health and Safety
1. To protect your hearing during rehearsal you should turn the amps down and play instruments at the same sound.
2. If you play quieter when performing it will be a lot better for your hearing. It will prevent the risks of getting tinnitus and hearing damage.
3. Fire safety — Always make sure you know the fire evacuation procedure for wherever you are working.
4. Be proactive in your health. Think about your posture, take regular breaks from rehearsals
- Research and write-up, in your own words, the following information on your blog:
- How can you protect your hearing during rehearsals?
- How can a mixture of repertoire (quiet and loud songs) help protect your hearing?
- Should you rehearse with loud or quiet sound levels? Why?
- How much time out (silent time) should you have during your rehearsals? Why?
- Describe a suitable venue for rehearsals, why is it suitable?

Swot Analysis
SWOT
STRENGTHS - I can play guitar, therefore I have a skill which can be used, I work well in a group, which will benefit my learning and I concentrate when playing in my group, therefore I can get work done quicker.
WEAKNESS - I can't sing or read music.
OPPORTUNITIES - I can learn drums, from having drumming lessons in school.
THREATS - People distracting me in lessons, will slow down my improvement. People who let me down by not being able to play the song. People who don't bother to learn the song. Therefore I could play a solo performance to be self reliant.

School rehearsal lessons
In the first lesson i practiced playing lead up and down the strings of the guitar. It was a good exercise because i found it difficult, and by the end i had improved. At home i had practiced the same exercise and now i found it a bit easier.
My next lesson will be in 2 weeks because i wont be in next week, and then it is half term.

Rehearsal Diary
Week 4
Last week, I practiced with Ben at lunchtime. We decided on the song which was called More than a feeling. This week we will practice on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday lunchtime. Last week we practiced the chords, the lead chorus and a drum beat. In next lesson, we need to play the song through a few times so that we can understand exactly what to play and when the song changes.
The main chords of the song are G, C, Em, D
The chords for the chorus are D, Dsus4, C, G
Week 5
In this his weeks rehearsal, I helped Ben get a drum beat for the intro of our song. We have now perfected the intro. Next week we need to practice the chorus and then the rest of the song.
to have a successful rehearsal we need to first learn the full song, and then practice together in time and concentrate.
Week 6
In this weeks rehearsal, we didn't make much progress. We can still do the intro and now we can do a bit of the verse. I now need to learn the transition into the next chorus.Once i have learned the transition, the song is basically completed, we then need to rehearse it.
The chords for the transition are: Em7, Asus4, A, A2, A, G, D/F#, Em, D,
G, D/F#, Em, D,
